Description
This is the National Tree of Trinidad. The following was copied from the Cockrell Butterfly Center website: In the Butterfly Center, the showy flowering branches are often loaded with butterflies. The flowers themselves are dull orange and rather small, but each cluster is subtended by a brilliant red, paddle-shaped bract that catches the butterflies’ attention. This tree is in the same family as coffee and gardenias. I took this photo on August 29, 2011.
(Camera settings: Nikon D3100 – F-stop-f/3.6; exposure time-1/125 sec; ISO-250; focal length-55mm; max aperture-5; no flash.)
